Wow! It was a great day and everyone was excited. The students at ElShaddai E-Learning Centre (EELC) were celebrating their first Award Presentation on 18 November 2017! The event started at 2pm with praises and heartfelt thanks to God in songs, followed by an opening address by Dr Ng Oi Leng.
Mithikshan, one of the youngest students at EELC, delivered the first valedictory speech. He recalled his first impression of the school as new with big chairs and tables! It had been a great year for him as he enjoyed learning with his classmates and playing with them. The second valedictory speech was delivered by Bushra who concluded her speech by paying tribute to her teachers with a poem.
Each and every student participated in putting up an impressive programme that afternoon. A 5-girl team played the ukelele beautifully. The lively tempo of the dancers’ movements was enjoyed by both the dancers themselves and the audience. The drama group brought much laughter among the audience with their very funny skit. The finale was a song sung by all the students together.
The programme was made more colourful by a video presentation of photos taken throughout the year of our school life inside and outside the school. We were all amazed by so many happy memories captured in the photos. Looking at the photos, we realized how much we had worked as a team. Even more amazing is how different races become one team when we students study together at EELC. That is because of our hardworking, devoted, sincere and loving teachers.
The highlight of the event for the students was, of course, the award presentation. Altogether 39 prizes and certificates were given out to the respective deserving students.
Our two MCs, Naw Mary and Sarah were so confident and natural in engaging the audience. I personally would like to say a big thank you to them for pulling together the entire programme successfully.
No event is complete without photo taking and we had so much fun posing with classmates, our family members, teachers and friends in front of our phone cameras.
It was indeed a memorable day for all at EELC.
