Over 30 thousand children, from new born to 17 years of age, are lacking access to safe vaccination care. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is changing this statistic. IOM, through ElShaddai Centre, has helped provide 2 shots of MMR vaccine per child, to as many refugee children as they can reach. The ElShaddai Centre school children and others from the community areas in Johan Setia and Batu Caves were also given this privilege of free vaccination.
The MMR vaccination stands for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella. In April 2017, we managed to vaccinate about 116 students aged 4 to 17 years from our school with their parents’ approval.
