From the academic angle, English Week is a major event in the annual calendar of ERLC.  This year, it was held on 26–28 April. The English Language teachers and Class teachers worked hard to prepare students in their individual classes for the various events. The students participated in a wide range of events which included Poem Recitals, General Knowledge Quiz, Action Songs, Skit Presentations and two competitions for Spelling Bee and Public Speaking.

The Public Speaking competition was only for the Year 6 students who spoke on their own chosen topics. It was heartening to hear the students speak on personal topics such as their country of origin and the plight of their people. The Spelling Bee competition was open to Year 1 to 6 students. Prizes were awarded to the best participants for these two events.

The little ones in Kindergarten classes delighted the audience with interesting action songs. The other presentations, quiz and recitals also encouraged active participation from our multi-national, multi-cultural students and boosted their interest and usage of the English Language creatively.

It had been an intensive and lively English Week for all especially the students. They had benefited not only in enhancing their language skills but also in boosting their self-confidence.
