This year, ERLC had the privilege of being selected by World Vision to benefit from their annual fund raising effort “30-Hour Famine”.
Their ‘ambassador’, Taiwanese singer Rachel Liang, came with a team from World Vision to involve our Year 6 students in a lively programme of activities and songs based on their theme “One Future, No Hunger”. The students were taught about the importance of eating healthy food. Rachel Liang shared her story of growing up in an orphanage and how love was so important to her and the orphans. She encouraged the students to be grateful for their families and the education they are receiving. The 30-Hour Fasting event was held in July, and people who observed the fast would be able to identify with those who go through famine.
